I have a emachines laptop, model emachines E725, rating 3.3 windows experience index system type is 64-bit operating system. with a windows 7 home premium.
my problem is someone put a password to keep me out of my own comp. can you help me get passed it and fix the prob they caused for me? they do this to end up taking it from me when i give up trying to fix it myself and this time i do not want to let anyone have it. they got the last comp from me doing this to me and now that i found this site i want to put a stop to it. thanks for your help. I went to the emachines website and i will not pay to talk to someone about this problem. I'm looking to fix this for free. will you please help me? thanks again

Can you log into any user accounts that have admin privileges? And just out of curiosity, how did this happen?

Is there a password on the user account if you log into safe mode?

Boot up and continually hit F8....then you should be able to get into safe mode. If the person who changed your password did not also change it in safe mode, you may be able to log in without one.

You did not answer my question about how this happened!! Did you not have a password to begin with?

The only thing you can do is to use your Windows installation disc and reformat and do a clean install.

this person likes to take from people because she doesn't want to work for it. so she has a habbit of doing this to others.

If you have access to another machine you can use this ....

    http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net/

download the "Live cd version" and burn it to disc using this ....

    http://majorgeeks.com/ImgBurn_d4870.html

put the cd in the machine that is locked down and let it run, this software will give you all the windows passwords that are on that machine.

As long as you can burn cd's that will be fine (I call laptops/desktops machines).

just follow the instructions given with both software. you will need to set the bios in the locked *machine* so that it boots from the cd and not the harddrive, to access the bios you need to press f1,f2,f8 or Del not sure which one it is but more than sure it could be Del, go to boot options and change the order of boot (if need be) by using the + - to the dvd/cd option, save changes then restart.....*WARNING* whilst in the bios *DO NOT* make any changes to anything else other than what i have told you. place the ophcrack cd that you have just made into the dvd/cd drive and restart the machine, press any key to boot from the cd, ophcrack will then start to run and give passwords.

Please be patient and read the instructions with the software before running!!!

I had luck with testing this program to remove the administrator password on XP.

It seemed to work correctly to remove the password for Recovery Console which is the only option I tried. Someone else here at MG tried it but did not have success.

It may be worth taking a look at. You can always cancel the procedure before completion to get a feel for the program.

If you have your Windows installation disc, start your computer and go into the bios ( usually F12 ). Once in the bios, go to the devices tab and move the cd drive to the first position. Insert your Windows disc and reboot. You should get a black screen asking if you want to boot to the disc. Hit enter. Follow the prompts to reformat and install.
