EMachine T2742 Bios Update ??????

I am trying to upgrade the processor in an EMachine T2742 from Celeron to Pentium 4. The current bios string is SR84510B.0019.P03.0402081958. I find plenty of 84510A updates but not "B". I need to get to version P10. I have checked EMachine, Gateway and Intel, google, other forums etc. Any ideas?

 

Um... I can't find the T2742 listed on the eMachines website. Mind checking the model number for us?

 

Thank you for the response. You wont find it under drivers and downloads. However it is listed under the support documents downloads. Here are some vitals. I have Expanded the memory to 1.5Gb, added a video card and 300W PSU.

I do not think you are going to have much luck with this. I searched my emachines forum and came up with these thread. Maybe it can get you started.

In the second link you will notice that the T2742 has the same bios as many other Emachines, but finding one is difficult.

Edit: this site also has the A but not the B BIOS update:

The site was listed by Google as being infected but today it says it is okay.

 

Thank you for the input. I have checked those sites as well. I have been searching the EMachine support site for models with the same bios too. I wish I could find out the difference between the 84510A's and my 84510B. Found plenty of updates to download and have tried to express install throught windows but they state they are not system compatible. I would hate to flash the bios with an incompatible version.
