Ok, this one is for my aunt and is a new one to me. I've never heard of anyone getting this type of message so don't even know how to start to help her. I will give you the info I can:

She has a dell purchased within the last year with Vista Home Edition. She uses Qwest DSL for online services and email.

Every time she tries to send an email she gets the message that "this account is for receiving only". WTH is that? I've never heard of a "receive only" email. Does it have something to do with something she did when setting up the account? Sorry I don't have more info, but I can get what you ask for. This is something she called me about and it thoroughly stumped me as I've never heard of such a thing (though I'm sure it exists, lol).

    Help, please?

Create another windows account, log into it, try out the email.

Best course of action would be contact the ISP & Dell.

If she is trying to send email through something like Outlook or Outlook express and has it set up to send on port 25, that might be the problem.

She will need to contact Qwest and ask what port is used to send email, then change the settings in her email program.
