Email help for Windows 7 64 bit.

I just got my system back up and running and installed Windows 7 64 bit. The problem is that I can't seem to get an email program up and runnig that will use all of my old Outlook Express info.

Are there any that anybody could recommend that would work?

I found this one on MG download page and it looks as if it will do, but don't really know anything about it:

Any ideas?

 

Could you be more specific about your "Outlook Express info"?

If you mean your server settings, and importing your mail, then Windows Live Mail should do the trick. There are instructions at Microsoft for importing messages into Windows Mail from Outlook Express that may be of help, but again, I'm really not sure what you're problem is without clarification of the above.

 

Thanks for the reply, I actually just remembered about Thunderbird and that I had used that before.

Got it up and running and ok so far.

 

Actually, Thunderbird is not working for me. I'm not receiving any new messages.

Here's whats going on. I had Outlook Express on my machine when I had XP. Now I'm running Windows 7 and can't find a suitable email program, so that I can get my mail that I was getting with Outlook.

I loaded Thunderbird and sent myself a test email and that went through fine. The problem is that I'm not getting any new emails.

I have a back-up machine that is running Ubuntu and Evolution Mail and there are new messages daily.
Everything is set up the same, but the Windows 7 comp is not getting new messages.

What can I try that will work?
