Email link

I am not sure if this is the proper place to post this, so I am sorry if it is not. My question is, does anyone know how to place a link on your internet explorer to your email? I have seen this link on other people's internet explorer toolbar, and it has always been on the right side of the toolbar. Usually they are a button that you can click and it takes you directly to your email, so you do not have to type in the website address, then click on the email part of the webssite, and then enter your username and password. My uncle's says his name and email. I know this is vague, and probably no one will understnad what I am talking about, but any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help.

No that is not it. The links worked, but thats not what I am looking for. The link would say (emailaccount@gmail.com) or something along those lines, and it would be in the upper right corner of the screen right below the minimize and maximize buttons. I know that this is not much help, and I have tried to look for images online, but cannot find any. My uncle does not know how he got it to do it, because someone did it for him a long time ago.
