My sister has started having problems with her pewter & receiving email from me. If I use my Incredimail program, she doesn't receive my email, but if I use Outlook Express, she gets them. Any idea why the difference?

    What client is she using?

Does she get an error or it just never shows up?

She's using Outlook Express also. She is just not receiving them. My other sister is using OE also & has no trouble receiving them.

    musker,

Have you checked to make sure that your sister's ISP is not blocking Incredimail headers?

It might be worth a check with your ISP periodically to see what WHOLESALE blocks they've got in place at the moment.

We've all heard the horror stories about things like AOL blocking ALL messages to AOL members from ANY Earthlink address for a short while. This kind of thing can happen simply because the spam blocker of a receiving ISP discovers that a spammer is using a particular domain address to send mail to that ISP's members. An across-the-board block can happen, and it sometimes takes a little intervention from the ISP's users to lift the ban.

    Hmmmm..

is it possible that Incredimail sends HTML mail and OE is sending just text and your sisters client is blocking HTML mail??

    I'm grasping here...

Are they on the same ISP... and are their security settings the exact same?

You might also get her to make sure that you have not been added to her blocked senders list by mistake. Or on purpose;)

Hehehee :D Thanks, I thought of that.

She's getting my email when I send it via OE though.;)

That would be a different address though I think.

No, it's the same address. One (OE) will receive & one will not.:(

OK, so xflat has brought us back to my point:

It looks as though you have nothing else to check BUT the ISP's spam filters and the ISP's blocked domains. Your answer is in there, I'm betting.

Postini is a weird one sometimes. Every time I run through the 500 or so spam messages my ISP's Postini setup blocks every few days, I find a couple of pieces of pure gold that Postini thought were spam.

Thanks a lot for all the time you folks have taken to help. I've taken Incredimail off as my default email program and just use OE. Thanks again for all your help.

But musky, there are LOTS of good alternatives to using just OE. OE isn't really much of a mail client. Most people use it simply because IT'S THERE when they load their Windows OS.

Look through the clients on MG. I never, ever use OE for anything anymore, and when I repair a client's (that's a person, not a program) machine and find that he's using only OE, I always recommend that he look around and try some other clients (that's a program, not a person).

I use and *love* my Eudora Pro, because it does EVERYthing I could possibly want a client (program) to do for me. But it costs a bit. There are lots of freebies and cheapies, and there are even free versions of Eudora without ads. They're called "Lite," but they're still more powerful than OE.

Well, I finally figured out how to correct the problem. I switched to MyIE2 Lite version. Apparently there is something in the full version that doesn't like Incredimail. No more problems. :) Thanks a lot to everyone for all the replies.

Just a Blast from the Past, xflat. Not to worry. The world is still turning clockwise, er, ... counterclockwise, ... hmmm.

The world is still turning the way it was. :D
