2 systems- laptop & desktop. Both Win7 and seem to run fine.
2 GMail accounts. Both have always run fine on both systems, allowing my to use the most approp account.
7-10 days ago that changed. #1 does fine on my laptop, but #2 won't send or receive. On my desktop, #2 runs fine, and #1 won't send or receive.

I've tried Google's automated email address retrieval screens dozens of times. My efforts on each machine results with Google saying its' unable to verify me as the owner.

I'd welcome ideas, where to start, or options.
    Thanks a bunch.

How are you accessing your two Gmail accounts? If via a web browser on those systems I don't see any issue on the Google forums about what you are seeing, unless you have software blocking it, or a failure to allow cookies.. If you know your correct password/s for those accounts there should not be a problem. When Google seeks to 'verify' you it asks one or more security questions, or send you a verification code via text message or email to a different email address you associated those Gmail accounts with and, if answered correctly it works.
'Email address retrieval'? No idea what that is and why you would need it if you already know your username/address, password and security questions.
You should try to log in on a different device - smart phone if you have one, tablet or a friend/relatives system.

    HI

Would try Max's last option to test both accounts on another PC.
Installed any new security software at all? *disable to test an running security software*
Do you use an email client e.g Outlook Thunderbird etc to manage your email accounts?

Under the heading "Didn’t get verification email", do these steps, especially 3-5 and see if you can verify, then access the email accounts.

While I use Gmail, Thunderbird has always been my interface. 'Retrieval'.. sometimes when I'm answering questions about accessing my 'other' acct, it will ask about that.
I'm going to explore the options you mentioned. Thank you for your response. Tice

Thanks David GP.... I use Gmail, with Thunderbird as my interface. I've had no issues for year. Is there somewhere I should be looking?
    Thanks, Tice

Strange problem. I have a similar setup - laptop and desktop, two gmail accounts on each, Thunderbird as interface and everything is working as it should (IMAP), so there haven't been any changes made either to Thunderbird or to Gmail that could have caused this.

Are these accounts POP3 or IMAP accounts? Obviously with POP3, any mail received on one of the machines will not be received on the other. POP3 doesn't affect sending ability directly, except each Sent items folders will only contain items sent from that machine.

Hello.... both accts are IMAP, and are set up as you describe. I've changed nothing in TB or Gmail, that I'm aware of. My original configuring of the two, was mostly automated per instructions via TB I believe. I could redo that if critical, but I'm reluctant.

I don't see you have much choice. TB is very good at finding the servers for any given email account and configuring the account settings. However if you are nervous you could use the snipping tool to take pics of your current settings. Good luck.

Trying to weave responses within multiple Sun Tasks....
Google is celebrating, saying it's all fixed. They're wrong. 2 error messages.... do they provide clues?
1- "There was an error saving the message to sent mail. Retry?"
2- "Failure to connect to server [snip]
    Does this lead anywhere?

Do both of these email accounts work correctly when you send and receive in a browser, bypassing TB? If they do not then there is a mistake in your username and/or password. If they do then the account setup in TB contains errors so set them up again.

EDIT - it's a very bad idea to post a full private email address on a public website. As it's too late to edit you should ask one of the mods or admins to edit it.

Oops. Thanks for the 'heads up'.
Using Gmail directly, one works, but if I'm reading correctly there's a setting online or in TB, that blocks it from being sent, ie, 'Failure to connect to server'.
And, if my phone Gmail acct had a wrong password, would that impact my other 'systems'?
    Again, Thanks. Tice

'Failure to connect to server' when using a browser indicates that either the email address or password is incorrect.

It will only prevent the phone from connecting.

Virus? Careless (been there before)?? Just sent emails from each acct to the other. Worked fine. Next time, who knows. Tice
