    Hi again good people,

I use Mozilla's "Thunderbird" mail servicer, not MS OE. We've had a problem with our POP Email server......:crybaby

My POP Email server has been crashed or sabotaged:cry; it is based in Israel, and now I can't get into it any way. Can't Get In. So I set up a new account at another POP server for $9./yr : 'Hotpop.com', and I cannot get it to login after registering. I think I used the old Israeli address and it might need verification.....or some 'bug' :craphas jumped into my machine from the Email server's system-connection.

And my PC is running slow and flakey....
    :confused

So this second I am running MalwareByte's Free Ed updated scan, and my Free AVG anti-virus scans, which are onboard. After that I could go on and on ad infinituum....with an online A-Square Trojan scan, Kaspersky's online, Panda, etc etc.:banghead

Isn't there a test, Dr. WebFixIt, or something -- some way to diagnose if I have some malware ??:dood

So we're looking for a diagnosis at this point, and to run some scans.
    Here's what MalwareByte's found :
    c:\WINDOWS\system32\mlcom.ax (Backdoor.Bot):crap
    ...it was deleted.

    AVG is still running....

Diagnostics.....(p.s. - if this post belongs under Malware, then would somebody post it there for me ??

    Thanks pals,

Okay, the PC is fine and no malware got through. But I pay a certain amount every year and it's for the POP3 email service, which allows incoming emails to be retrieved by 'Mozilla Thunderbird', a mail serving app like Outlook Express.

I don't think there are free email servers with free POP options so you can use Thunderbird, or OE.

I want to see if this company in Israel is really screwed (and if I lost all my stuff) .....it's been about a week now since their 'crash', and you can visit them at "safe-mail.net". Right now, I can't even log in to see new mail directly from their site in my browser, much less thru Mozilla Thunderbird.

Someone really blew them up, or something. Now I can't even get in.

So the Advanced care stuff and other PC tune-up apps are not necessary, and I have Advanced System care and Spybot S&D anyway.

A free yahoo email account DOES NOT PROVIDE POP3 downloading into your 'Thunderbird', or OE, Opera, etc.

    Hmmmm......Wot's next ???
