Word desk? can you be more specific? I'm having trouble understanding what the problem is. Please tell us what kind of file you are trying to send (is it MS Word, or Corel Word Perfect, and what version) and what email client you are using.

I'm guessing they can't open the doc if you do a save as? It's hard to understand what you're doing...

Try, take a screenshot (Alt+Print Screen) and paste into paint or photo program, then crop it, save as a .jpg file

I suspect you have a word document open and you want to attach just part of it to an email message.
    If that is the case
    1. Open a blank document window
    2. Go back to the original document and click edit select all, then click edit again and click copy.
    3. Click on the task bar to bring the blank document to the front, put your cursor at the top of the document and press ctrl+v at the same time.
    4. You now have a copy of the original. Highlight the parts you do not want included and click the delete key. Keep doing this until the new document is only showing the bits and pieces that you want. You can get rid of all the blank spaces by places the mouse cursor at the end of a line, right before the blank spot and then keep pressing delete until the blank lines all disappear.
    5. When you have exactly what you want, click on File then save as and give it a different name than the original document. (I usually save something I know I will be emailing to my desktop so I can find it easily).
    6. Write the email and then click attach and attach the document file on your desktop.
