    Hi all,

I have been creating a newsletter using MS templates in outlook, but different email cliets are throwing images all over the place, coloring text all by themselves etc.

It seems to me it would be best to 'fully produce' my material - such as a PDF - and simply embed it into the email body - rather than attaching it which will probably mean it will be chucked out!

If anyone has any similar experience or ideas they'd like to share, I'd really appreciate it!

PDF is a good idea but you can not embed a PDF file in your email message, you would attach it to your message. PDF documents can also be accessed via a website. So, if you have a website, you could upload newsletters to it and include links to them in your email messages.

Regarding the problem with different email clients, have you seen this or just heard about it from your email recipients? If you do not currently have different email clients installed in your office, you could install one or more of them, depending on what they are and what OS they require, so that you can test your messages in them before sending to your newsletter recipients. Your comment about "coloring text all by themselves" doesn't make sense; I don't know how that would happen. Perhaps you'd be better off creating your own HTML email newsletter to embed in your email message. That might give you more control over it's appearance in the recipients' email client. But, it will also require learning about HTML and/or an HTML editor if you do not have that knowledge.

    Thanks for the reply usafveteran,

Since the behavior of the differing clients is unpredictable, the concpet was for a 'finished object' to drop in really. PDF clearly not it!

The text coloring may have something to do with default text colors used perhaps.. it's actually one of my crew doing the newsletter.

I think you're rigjht about doing it via HTML - but, as I say, I had hoped to grab this existing doc and simply embed it (hopefully via PDF!).

The other option i thought of was to drop an image in - but it will be a classic quality/quantity (filesize) issue!

We'll have a bit more of a play!

    Cheers!
