    Hi All

My system: Dell Dimension 9100 XP SP3 Firefox 5.0 all up-to-date.

Using Firefox I can't play embedded videos on websites (including this one eg: http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=162769) I just get a message stating " An error occured, please try again later"

If the video is on Youtube (most are) I can play the video directly from Youtube using the same browser.

I can also play the embedded video directly from the website if I change browsers to IE. but prefer Firefox

So sounds like a setting in Firefox. Any ideas?

    thanks in advance.

    Dins

so.. just to clarify, when you try to play the videos from here: http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=162769

it says "An error occured, please try again later"

Only things I can think of atm are, are you using NoScript for firefox? and... Are you running another youtube video in a different tab of FireFox when you attempt to play a second video (in a different tab)?

Yes. The MG site was just an example, the problem seems to be with any site I try that has embedded video

NoScript is an add-on for Firefox, right? It is not installed on my computer.

Nope. One tab. One session of Firefox.

    thanks

Can you try uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox?

    1. Use Revo Uninstaller to do a complete uninstall of Firefox.
    2. then download the latest version of Firefox 5 here: download link
    3. Install it :)

is there a way I can save all the stored passwords in FF for use in the re installed version?

    Yes, try this: download link

Just a warning, some antivirus software like Norton, and even malwarebytes will claim this is infected.. We promise it's clean :) It's a false-positive.
