Emergency shutdown

Laptop did an emergency shutdown to "protect security" and on relaunch Audio Service is off, there is no connection to the internet (typing this on another laptop), Windows Security Centre is not working and Intel Turbo Boost has stopped. Windows installer is not working, and AVG is not showing up the Anti-Virus.

I have been on the Malaware Forum (under the same heading) and they gave me the all clear. I also tried a system restore and Windows Repair by Tweaking.com as suggested on that forum. They then sent me over here.

Can someone suggest a possible solution. I can give a more detailed description of what is not working if requested.
