empty windows in the tool bar??

thanks for the referral to tomcoyyote on my other machine. I have it back up and running now.

This is on a machine running win 98 (i am soon gong to upgrade it to XP)

I keep noticing on my tool bar that I often have additional empty boxes that whenI clicck on them they dissappear but otherwise they just stay there. When i ctrl-alt-del to see what these windows are I find nothing.

It just seems suspicious to me and I was wondering the steps you would take to make sure this computer is having a problem?

updated then ran Adaware and SPYBOT but had no tnew threats

 

yeah, when i had 98 (possibly when i had 2000 also) i had the same problem. im pretty sure its not a virus because theres nothing in the ctrl+alt+delete box, and i keep antivirus progs running. its prolly just glitches, like if you close a program and it never removes it from the startbar.

 

Ive had that glitch with 9x as well, it was usually somthing to do with drivers loading at startup or programs not unloading themselves quite right. Nothing to worry about I dont think.

 

It also could be your browser. Had that problem once myself.
