Anyone familiar with this anti-malware software?
I am getting ads for it, but know nothing about it yet.

Looks like its legit antivirus http://majorgeeks.com/Emsisoft_Anti-Malware_d172.html you have to pay to use it tho. Are you getting these Ads on all sites you go to? Do you have the software already? I would personally just stick to something free. They work just as well.

If you want anti-malware software, grab malwarebytes. I was so impressed with it that I paid for it on 2 computers. All the others run the free version. Support via the forum is excellent. (free or paid, they help all equally).

After trying just about every free anti-malware app available, and now that I'm using the paid version of MalwareBytes with the free version of Avira Antivirus running alongside, and the free SpywareBlaster blacklisting bad sites, I can honestly say that I have not had an active virus infection since I started running this combo for the past 2+ years. I've had a few close calls with the 'drive-by' type of attacks, but they have all been stopped mostly by the apps, but partially by quick action on my part (the PC reset button can be a life saver when hit at the right moment). If you're considering the purchase of any anti-malware program, I strongly recommend MalwareBytes as plodr also recommends above; it's a one-time purchase, meaning that you don't need to pay every year nor do you need pay any 'subscription' fees... a one-time single investment in PC security, and at +/- $30, it can't be beat!

(unfortunately, there is NO antivirus/antimalware program that is 100% iron-clad, rock-solid, bulletproof - nothing is perfect)

My posting on Emisoft was curiosity more than anything.
I got a slew of ads from them. However nothing I have read makes me want to pay for it as I can find nothing that it does that makes it worth spending more money. I use Avast, Malwarebytes and Suoer Anti Spyware. Once in a while something sneaks in, but I do a tremendous amount of net surfing in conjunction with newsletters I edit and publish. So, I figure sooner or later I will find a bug out there. But, by far these do a great job holding off critters.
    Thanks for input, folks.

They are also the ones that put out the Online Armor firewall, FYI.
