My isp just called me to let me know my computer had downloaded some copy righted software. So I have to ask is there any P2P worth using these days?

If you are searching for a P2P software for not being cought downloading copyrighted stuff you are at the wrong place here.

They do not support warez here and the best things if you uses P2P try to download legal program i use personnely Utorrent if you want to download like linux and others freeware program this a good one....

    Hope this help....

There are some bittorrent clients that support download encryption but I would recommend you stop. The next notice you recieve may be a subpoena and lawsuit.

Unreal BIG BROTHER is watching, thats pretty scary. Although downloading copyrighted material is illegal I ask what is the greater crime your actions or them obviously spying on you and invading your rights to privacy. What else are they monitoring!?! Who was the ISP!!!!

It has to my knowledge always been a 'given' that your ISP monitors at least intermittently what you are doing with your connection. Not necessarily the actual content of uploads/downloads but certainly the amount of activity and if the activity is lets say, greater than the average customer I imagine this would peak their interest so to speak.

I am in no way defending their actions but the mistake most people make is not thoroughly reading their TOS before agreeing to them! Nor do they thoroughly read the fine print updates to the TOS when they get them via US mail or email. You have the right decline/object to the changes just as you do with those little slips of paper outlining changes in the TOS with credit cards, etc. but you can't do that if you don't know what exactly you are dealing with.

Read the fine print! Just as you would completely read a EULA before going click, click, click and installing any software.

That makes sense. I haven't read my ISP contract and I'm sure the vast majority haven't read and or understood the complex intricatcies (spellin) of the fine print. It is concerning and who decides what is greater than average DL or more importantly who polices the police, how much personal info do ISP's have access to? I am going to do some serious research on encyption after this but I don't want to sacrifice sys resources to maintain some sort of level of privacy. 1984 is here an alive.

That's not surprising at all if your ISP is monitoring your activity. When you are downloading you select the directory you are saving to so that information is shared (for lack of a better term) across the connection.
