eMusic question

My boys each received MP3's for X-mas. In the packages was a slip of paper for 50 free downloads from eMusic. However, it was a 7 day trail that required a credit card and since we dont have one, we didn't get the trial. Today, I received an email from them that you don't have to have a credit card, but you download their music toolbar, and you get a free song everyday for a year, total of 365 songs. Has anyone used eMusic or had any problems with the program as far as it being easy to use, viruses, malware, etc? Thank you in advance for your answers.

Not used them as while they have a vast amount of users, I still remember the toolbar they use flagging up AdWare.Win32 malware in many AntiVirus applications, last test I noticed someone do on this was in Dec 07 and it still flags up warnings HERE

Their music download service is very legit and as safe as many, but this toolbar and its likely creation by a 3rd party is still IMO a risk.

I'd go to the eMusic site and look around just to be sure that the email actually was from them. If there is some sort of an offer to get 365 songs free, it should appear on the site.
If you can't find anything about it, look on the eMusic site for customer service and send them an email. Don't simply reply to the email you received just in case it is not from eMusic.
