I have had a couple members at another site try and help me with this problem, but the problem still exists and I think they have no other suggestions for me.

I have a machine that ran Win 10 for 2 years and then it was updated to Win 11 with no problems after all the setting in the UEFI were set as they needed to be. There is a setting in Windows Defender that is there, but it will not allow me to Enable it. The 2 files causing it to not be allowed to be Enabled are rcblan.sys and wdcsam64_prewin8.sys. I am told they are driver files. I can find where wdcsam64_prewin8.sys is associated with Western Digital devices that were attached to this machine when it was running Win 10 but never since it was updated to Win 11. I have no idea what rcblan.sys is associated with. I am told that there should be a device listed for both of them in the Device Manager and that is where I need to remove them. There is no listing for Western Digital in the Device manager and, again, I don’t know what rcblan.sys is associated with. When I showed screenshots showing no Western Digital devices, I lost the person who was a great help to me. I believe that was because I could no longer do as the person was suggesting. Then another person tried helping me by suggesting I use Autoruns.exe to find the files and delete them in Autoruns. Again, there was no listing in the Device tab for them or any other tab that I could find. I searched for rcblan.sys and it found nothing. I searched for wdcsam64_prewin8.sys and it too found nothing. I had Autoruns.exe list every sys file and nothing was there. I looked at every other tab that was available. So, consequentially I still cannot enable Memory Integrity.

I have a program, maybe I got it from here, I’m not sure. Anyway, it is called Everything. I used it to search for and find those sys files and it found 1 instance of wdcsam64_prewin8.sys and 4 instances of rcblan.sys, 1 in the System folder the same folder wdcsam64_prewin8.sys was in. It would not allow me to delete them. The other 3 instances of rcblan.sys were in the Program Files (86) folder and I do not think they are the problem. I believe only the ones in the System32 folder are the culprits. I have tried to give myself, I am listed as an Administrator Account, Full privileges in that System32 Folder to delete those 2 files but it won’t let me. When I try running File Explorer as Administrator from the Start Menu, I get an error box that is attached. I have found a way to run File explorer by choosing that option when I Right Click on explorer.exe in the Windows folder. I have not tried to delete those files because I am leery of deleting sys files.

So, I have 2 questions. Does anyone know of a safe method to delete those 2 files - wdcsam64_prewin8.sys and rcblan.sys?

Next does anyone know how I can fix the error in the dialog box and be able to run File Explorer from the Start menu as the Administrator?
