Describe the process you are going through.

I'll ask the Admins to move your posting to the Software Forum :)

The usual, leave the pc for the specified period of time. Sreensaver should appear. It does not.

Does your screen go black or just keep the desktop on it? Just wondering, as you may have it set in "Power Options" for the monitor to go off after so many minutes, or it may be set to "Hibernate". Just a thought.:) Shannon

Is this windows media center 2005? If so, there is a startup item that must be removed, in order for screensavers to kick on automatically. :)

XP Pro, single user, no probs with other 2 PC's. Simply-the screen saver does not activate, I can preview it fine.

I'm having the same trouble w/ my screen saver. It previews fine too. I've got XP home edition, 1 user, worked fine earlier this month. Don't know when it stopped working!
I turned the ss to none, rebooted & reactivated it w/ the same problem. What are the other possibilities?

I'm having the same trouble w/ my screen saver. I tried Huey Dewey's recommendations without resolution. What are the other possibilities?

This might help, I had a similar problem in Win98 and I was able to fix it I'm not sure if XP is the same though, but it's worth a look:
Locate the file named "system.ini" in your C:\WINDOWS folder, right click it and select properties, and down the bottom where it says attributes, just make sure that "read only" box isn't checked. If it is, uncheck it.
