    Hi,
    I know this is not the right forum but there is not right forum on mg.

    Anyway i am currently participating in a wargame thing on try2hack.nl. Im on level 10. But thats neither here nor there.

    I was wondering how people can identify what type of encryption is being used on some data.
    For example some types of encryption are very easy to see such as

    ababa aaaaa abbaa abbba aaaaa baaaa baaba babba => BACONIAN encryption

    01001110 => binary etc.

    but most are not that easy to see such as

    ovaq pgpe - CVAT pgpe:cvatercyl => this is rot13 encryption

    this is the type of encryption i needed for level 10 but i dont know how your supposed to find this out without asking people who just know?

    If there was noone to tell me what encryption "ovaq pgpe - CVAT pgpe:cvatercyl" was in how would i find out??
