I wish to access my Router using the IP 192.168.1.1 using the address bar however Internet Explorer and Chrome keep putting the http prefix when i hit enter is there a way i can just use the IP that I typed without the http prefix being put before it? i have looked in both IE/Chromes tools menus to no avail.

Why do you want to remove it? It has to be there in order to be able to access your router, as routers use the http protocol.
