i have a Dell Inspiron 530 andDell monitor. when i turn on the computer in "start windows normal" i get the "entering power save" mode and system turns off. i have connected the monitor up to my laptop and it runs fine. i have cleaned out the dust bunnies and made sure the cables are all connected. i can start the computer after about 15 minutes and can run it in SAFE MODE WITH CONNECTIONS. i guess the question is, can i still run the computer in safe mode, get picture & go to the internet, but still have a bad graphic card? Does computer/video card still function in safe, but will not in regular startup?

Safe mode doesn't load drivers. Disable the driver in safe mode the re-boot in normal mode. Does the monitor stay on?
