Epson install problem?

    i have a Epson Stylus Color 860 i did have it hooked up through my scanner to my computer but that made it print slow so i wanted to hook it up via USB so i disconnected it from the scanner and took the cable off the printer and put a USB cable on it but my computer will not find it and i cant seem to get it to work is there something i am missing?

    Did you uninstall the drivers for the printer before un-daisy chaining it from the scanner?

    I would un-install the scanner and printer drivers reboot then plug them in one by one and re-install the drivers/software.

    that was the first thing i tried but that did not work i even tried it again. so thanks for trying any ways. i don't know why they have to make it so hard to install anything now and days.

    Have u tried installing the drivers first then plugging in the printer. i know canon printers r a bugger for this if u plug them in first it screws them up.
    Also try a diff usb port, I know it shouldnt make a diff but I have had things in the past that will in 1 usb and not another.
