Epson R280 problem

My R208 will not insert the Cd/Dvd into the unit, stops about 1 inch forward then slides back past the start point, tried changing cartridges, re-installed, no help. Any ideas greatly appreciated.

 

Is this an R280 that has been used a lot, or new to you? Either way, take the tray out and clean it with a good cleaner and wipe it dry. Let the tray dry thoroughly. Try printing onto a CD/DVD again. The trays can and do wear out, but you can find new ones on EBAY, about $20.
