Epson Scanning Problem

I use an Epson 1670 scanner with Epson Smart Panel software. The problem is, the scanned images always seem to have a small amount of each edge cut off. It makes no difference how much space there is around the object being scanned. In many cases it does not matter too much but sometimes I would like to get the full image. For example, I have just had to scan and print my credit card size driving licence to send with an insurance proposal form. The scanned images contained all the required information but I would prefer the edges to be visible.
