Am trying to download CoPilot GPS software on my laptop. Running Vista Home. CD will get almost to the finish and notice pops up saying installation failed while transferring files-Media Name: DATA Error Code 1603. Have check registry keys-ok, went to download service pak 2-can't-when I try to download updated Windows Installer - it says not enough memory.

While I have no clue what a 1603 error is, I'm familiar with PC's having "Out of Memory" errors.

You should always Google an error code: I just did.

Of course the obvious cause is that there is truly NOT enough memory in the PC to run the selected software.
So how much memory do you really have? That's RAM, not hard drive space.

Then what do you have running in the background?
Many folks have way too much stuff running in the background on their PC's.

The answer to your problem is somewhere in the answer to those two questions.
