I recently upgraded memory on my computer. Upon opening any of Microsoft Office XP applications, I am prompted to reactivate the product. When I put the cd in I get the following message:
Error 1919. Error configuring ODBC data source. MS Access Database, ODBC error 6: Component not found in the registry. Verify that the file MS Access Database exist and that you can access it.

I went to the Microsoft knowaldge base and was led to down load a comp checker and a MDAC file. When I tried to install the MDAC file, as directed by the comp checker; I could not run the .exe file.

Please help because I cannot run any of MicroSoft Office XP applications.

I called MicroSoft for Customer Support. For once, I got someone with a little computer knowledge. He emailed me the files to add to the registry and that fixed the problem.
Just wanted to thank you for your guidance.

Glad to hear that it is sorted. :)
