Error 430 with Registry Mechanic

Just downloaded and set up Registry Mechanic. I get a run-time error code of 430 "Class does not support Automation or does not support expected interface."
I do not have a clue what this means.
I am trying to identify a process running called n32rmd.exe and was advised to download Hijackthis.
Anyone, can you help?

Oh Dear. I sure did forget to state the standard 'system specs'. Sorry.

I am running Windows 98 Gold (1998) on a Toshiba Satellite 4060CDT with 192mb RAM, P II 300MHz.
I assume I need to download this file, MDAD 2.8?

I am hoping to get my system back into shape. It has slowed conciderable in the last year and I am in the process of cleaning up my Startup running processes.

yes, download and install the MDAC 2.8 .. but.. BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING. make sure you back up important files..please. then install the MDAC.

 

I will heed that ominous warning "back up improtant files".

I assume this file altesr something within my system and could have dire results?

for all intents and purposes, it updates your Operating System. So yes, it can have disasterous results if something should go wrong.
