Hi everyone, great site Majoegeeks.com, I would be lost without it. Thank you all and especially "Halo" for helping out in the past.

I have been trying for days to download latest versions of CDBurnerXP and AIMP2 from the list of MG software, when I get to the actual download point a screen comes up that says: "error 550....No such file or directory".

Also last Sunday the MG logo looked hacked; the helmet was gone and the Major was sporting a crew cut while the face was a darker green than usual.

I don't think my browser (Firefox) is responsible, however, it did ask for user name and password - very unusual. http://forums.majorgeeks.com/images/smilies/confused.gif
Can some one please shed some light? Many thanks.

Which of the 4 download links are you clicking on?
I do get a 550 error on the last link but the other three work fine.
I see there is a new version as of Nov. 1st. Perhaps you tried while the old version was being replaced?

Exactly where were you asked for a username and password?

I can't find the AIMP2 download so I'm unable to test it for you. I think I found it. AIMP

again, you will get a 550 error if you select the Internode download

Plodr, thanks for the follow up.
    The url I tried is - CDBurnerXP 4.2.7.1801 http://www.majorgeeks.com/CDBurnerXP_d4242.html

On selecting Internode from "downloads" list, it took me to: http://majorgeeks.com/downloadget.php?id=4242&file=14&evp=7dae1aab90a7e16a4cae6b6b3f5cd2f9, it was on this page that a small panel came up with the error notice and a second small panel that asked for user name and password.

I already mentioned about CDBurnerXP and AIMP2; I also had the same problem with "Sun Java Runtime Environment 6 Update 17"

I wondered about Internode and contacted them, they promised to come back to me about the issue and I am still waiting to hear from them.
    Thanks again

In the meantime, download what you want from any of the other download links. Even if you live in Oz, you can download from a server in another part of the world.
I regularly grab my linux updates from a server in the Netherlands even though I'm in the US.

Australia server is offered for free and is often over capacity. Wish we could do more but we can't justify paying for an AU server :(

Thank you Major Attitude, and also plodr for your genuine concern and constructive comments.
I guess the problem will continue, but thanks for trying.
Incidentally, this problem also crops up when accessing directly Internode's own mirror site.
    Cheers to all.
