error 80072ee7

Hi there to every one. I hope to find the fix for this error. I have a desktop Pentium 4 Xp with pack 2, 1GB ram, windows fire wall spybot anti-virus. I also have a router e and 2 laptops connected to the same line, witch booth are working fine.
My problem started 2 days ago, I was on the desktop and the connection stopped, but the laptops did not. I can not access windows line messenger and IE. I search the net for a fix to the error 80072ee7 and I found ,but after I followed instructions nothing happened. I disabled the fire wall with no result.

What can I do to fix error 80072ee7?

Thanks to all for the opportunity to put my case here in order to see if I can fix my PC without the need to do a format.

What is GIVING the error? Internet Explorer? Messenger? I'm not following how you went from a broken connection to searching for this error.
