Error after resizing partition

On my HDD I have two partitions: one for my normal every-day activities and one which contains all my games and nothing else. My partition with the games on it was running out of space but my other partition had plenty. So, I set out to resize my partitions to take space from my general partition and give it to my gaming partition.

I have fiddled with partitions before and I nearly always wreck something so I made sure I created backup images of both partitions with Norton Ghost. I then used Acronis Disk Director to resize the partitions.

All was done. I started up my gaming partition and it came up with numerous errors one after the other. Firstly, I noticed that it was taking along time to go from the black at the start to the picture of the Windows logo signaling that it is "logging on". Then, instead of going from the Windows logo to the normal Vista interface, it stayed at the "log on" screen and said, "Preparing desktop". This took a few minutes and then an error came up:

Then, a few seconds later, another error:

    Then another:

Then it asked me to restart numerous times. Nevertheless, I did get into the Vista interface except all my personal settings were gone except my desktop shortcuts. I tried opening games but only some of them work - same with my applications.

So, I restarted and tried again - same thing.

Then, I decided to go back to my general partition and open Norton Ghost to restore the image figuring that doing so would give me my settings back as well as everything the way it was before, except, with more space! It made no difference - I got the same errors.

Then, I went into Acronis and formatted the gaming partition and then tried restoring the image - same errors.

Also, when I go to 'Computer' (My Computer), my gaming partition does not have the Windows overlay on the image.

I am experiencing no problems whatsoever with my general partition.
I am running Vista Basic on my partitions.

    Please help! :cry

    hi, insamaic,
You had resized your partition, which caused the files damage and even could't boot your operation. Perhaps the Master Boot Recorder was damaged,Here are some tips for computer partition problems.
