Error and rebooting constantly

Not sure where to post this as it could be hardware or software. I am getting a stop error of 0x00000024 constantly with a reboot. Now to eliminate a couple of suggestions you might have, this is the 5th HDD I have installed my OS on, Windows XP Home, and have reinstalled it a couple of times for each drive. I have checked for Virus's and worms, malware, etc. Everything is clean, I have run chkdsk /f /r and it comes up clean. Help.tired:mad

 

Have you checked your ram. If you changed the HD 5 times and the problem keeps coming up then the next step is RAM. Rotate out the ram and if it stops the problem.

Hmmm, that STOP Message, 0x00000024, does point to the file system. After going through 5 drives and fresh OS installs, that would point to the controller - integrated with the motherboard - not good.

I'm not sure this is RAM, but it would not hurt to check it out. Physically swapping is one way, or you can test RAM using one of the following programs. Both require you to create and boot to a bootable floppy disk or CD to run the diagnostics. Using the floppy method is generally easier (and another reason to include floppy drives in new builds. However, the CD method is just as effective at detecting RAM problems. Allow the diagnostics to run for several passes or even overnight. You should have no reported errors.

I have used those programs and they come up okay, I will be swapping out the ram some time today and checking that out.
