I'm trying to fix a old Dell Dimension 2400 series.
    CPU 2.4 GHz
Ram 1024 MB ( it had 2 256 sticks I replaced them with a new 1 GB stick)
    Bios v. A00
Serivce tag no. 4XS2831 (if that helps)

In the boot menu there is a self dianostic tool. I ran it and got Error code 2F00;0119
System memory failure. Read FBFFFFFFh,expected FFFFFFFFh at address 0^00779Ch
Suspected memory component located on System broad, at label DIMM_1

Is the DIMM_1 the Ram Controller module or is it the Ram slot itself?

DIMM_1 is slot "A". I believe the 2400 has a max capacity of 1 GB but, 512 MB per slot. I just went to the Dell Support with the Service Tag number and confirmed it

I apologize for my earlier error. :-o It was early and I hadn't had my morning coffee. rolleyes

DIMM_0 is slot "A" and DIMM_1 is slot "B". But, the fact of the matter is slot "B" was unoccupied and that's why you got the error. The Dimension 2400's BIOS will only support 1 GB of RAM (2 x 512 MB) but, both slots have to be occupied (for future reference).
