Error Code 80072efd

Hey people. I've tried a calling people to figure this out, but so far it's a no go. So here's the deal. Windows is not updating and I'm getting this error code. I've searched online and found that other people are getting this error having to do with Windows Live Messenger, but I'm not using that. My Avira is also not updating automatically, but I have been able to update it manually. I've also noticed that Window's Sidebar app. is not updating either, the last news update is from Dec. 19th 2008. I'm running Vista and the computer is a year old.

Any thoughts??

g'day there are a few sugestions that may help you out at this site " http://www.updatexp.com/0x80072efd.html ". but it seems to me that possibly your fire wall is blocking the update services from these programs connecting with there servers.what type of fire wall are you using and do you have it configured correctly.
