Tried to copy my HD with Norton Ghost-

    error message: EA3905FE

Anyone come across this and find a way to fix it?

    only reference i find is:

"Error 1534 Cluster cross-linked or not allocated"

    Situation:
    The following message appears:
"Error 1534 Cluster cross-linked or not allocated Error 1534 Cluster not allocated (EA3905FE)."

    Solution:
This problem occurs when a cluster is listed as belonging to a file, but the volume bitmap does not list it as used.

Currently, the CHKDSK program that is part of Windows NT® cannot fix this problem. It does not recognize the cross-link.

Is the above what the solution tells you, or did you try it, and it still doesn't work?

If you haven't done a chkdsk, I'd try running a chkdsk.

Also, what OS are you using? I see Windows NT up there, but what version of NT?

    OS is XP Pro
have run chkdks several times - it reports corrupt attribute records - but does not fix them

is there a way to fix these errors without reformatting the drive?
