Windows XP Pro SP2. There's an error in the event viewer that just started showing up when Windows loads to the desktop. There's no visible error or any type of problems, and searching the Microsoft Knowledge Base came up with nothing. The error states:

the following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load: ntiomin

    I attached a screen shot....

    Any ideas?

Nobody? This error is coming up on a clean install performed about 2-3 weeks ago. The error just started about 4 days ago. The only reason I saw it was because I was looking thru the event viewer for something totally different....
    :cry

Anything happen 4 days ago? (updates/installs/etc)

I'd look through the Device Manager and see if all devices are running ok.

Is this problem occuring on a name brand machine? (HP?)

Nothing that I can remember other than standard stuff: antivirus updates, etc. But no new software that I can remember, but I'll have to dig a bit deeper...
That was one of the first things I did and it's all OK.
Nope- it's a custom build. AMDx2 5400+; 2x2gb DDR2-800; 2x320gb SATA2 HD (no RAID); Biostar TA780G M2+ mobo; NVidia GTX260 PCIe video; XP Pro SP2 with all updates through mid April.

It turns out I had installed the program CPUCool for about 5 minutes just to see what it was all about, and I'm pretty sure this is the root of the issue. CPUCool installs its own driver and/or service in order to do it's thing and I think when I uninstalled it, it did not completely clean itself up. I'm still digging (there's a chance that a virtual CD program may be involved too) and I'll post anything I find (as if anybody gives a :crap ).
