Please help. This computer is an IBM 500 point of sale system with a touch screen and AMD sempron processor running Win98. It has usb ports, keyboard port, an internal harddrive, but no external drives.

when the computer boots to windows it gives the message "error loading mouse.drv you must restart".

tried rebooting in "safe mode" with same result. when starting using "step by step" method it loads all the way to a message "error loading msmouse.vxd"
    and then turns off.

can anyone make a suggestion- how can I reload Win98 using dos commands and the ethernet port, can I network this unit from dos to access a cd drive, or a thumb drive, or can I reload drivers from the windows directory itself.

The POS support person can't look at it until next week, I can't go without a cash register for a week!
