I am new to this forum and I am not sure if I am correct in posting here. My daughter's computer froze and had to be hard rebooted. Upon reboot I got the "Error Loading Operating System" message. I used the XP install disk and proceed to do a repair. In ran fixboot and that did not solve the problem. Where do I go from here? Any help would be wonderful.
I tried to check BIOS to be sure the harddrive was being detected but I am not sure I am reading it correctly. Pri Master: user Size is given and cyl are given etc. So I assume it is reading the harddrive. It is a Ultra machine.

When it says, "The Operating System" it means Windows XP. If you can run repairs, the hard drive is being detected by the BIOS and is also partitioned (set up so the hard drive is used all as C: or to pretend it is at least 2 hard drives, such as C: and D: ).

You probably need to try one of those sfc /scannow things that I see people say but I'll leave that to someone more experienced with that side of it. :)
