Error log errors - help i have no idea about computers

My computer is constantly freezing up on me. a few days ago it wouldnt start at all and kept saying about system32/config/system being missing or corrupt. my friend changed the hard drive saying it looked like it had gone, but now even tho it is working again it is still freezing up. i checked the error log and it has a number of errors along these lines

DCOM got error "%1084" attempting to start the service EventSystem with arguments "" in order to run the server: {1BE1F766-5536-11D1-B 726-00C04FB926AF}

DCOM got error "%1084" attempting to start the service netman with arguments "" in order to run the server: {BA126AE5-2166-11D1-B 1D0-00805FC1270E}

Service Control Manager The DNS Client service depends on the TCP/IP Protocol Driver service which failed to start because of the following error: A device attached to the system is not functioning.

does anybody know what these mean, what has gone wrong or whatever because we are at a loss for ideas now. really need help to know what we can do with it now, its getting very annoying.

the new hard drive had been formatted once it was in the computer and that was 2 days ago it hadnt been used till today. there is nothing on the computer really, i have installed epson printer/scanner 2 childrens games today but nothing else. does it matter that we have no internet where the computer is (it is a works computer for nursery)
it does work ish in safe mode havent had any trouble, but can you run all the games and such in safe mode?
do you know what may have even caused any of it?
