Error message 0xc00000005

Hi All,
I recently purchased a game called Journey to the Center of the Earth and I
installed it on my IBM desktop but every time I try to play it I get an error message which contains the above code. I Googled the code and got several different responses. Many say it's a registry problem, some say it's a video card driver problem. When I installed the game at work, it worked fine.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the response but I purchaesd the game on E-Bay. After installing it on the computer at work I can play the game but not at home with my IBM desktop, running XP with SP3.

 

I was getting Error message 0xc00000005 on some of my games NeedForSpeed undercover, assasins creed but other games worked fine. After unplugging a USB joypad I no longer got this error. So it might be something plugged in.
