error message C00D1199 help needed

    I used Google to try to figure out this problem and got so much BS on how to fix it,one of the search results lead me to hear with the suggestion to download the K-Lite Mega Codec.I downloade and installed it but the videos that I'm trying to watch still give me the error message.I'm using XP with WMP 11.Any help would be awesome.

    What extension is on the video file you can't view?

    Here http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/C00D1199
    you can see the types of files supported. Even if you install a codec pack, if WMP doesn't support the file you are trying to play, you will continue to see this error.

    Then the Divx player had a codec included that you needed.

    I remember having to install something called ffdshow for me to be able to play videos on an old 2K laptop I use.
