    Hello
I know I should have the entire message to get an accurate reply but this error box comes on and drops off so fast I only get glances. It says," Windows has encountered a problem and must shut down. The problem is with the ?module. Would I like to send a report or not."
I just formatted and reinstalled xp sp3 on a Dell Insrion 5150 laptop.
I ran Mcafee and Windows Defender with no malware reports.
This message came up 3 times during 3 hours.
I have done this format/install a couple of times with no problem.
Is any part of the message a red flag or should I keep a pencil by my side + keep trying to get the whole message?
    Thank you

    Hello
My msie 7 Explorer keeps shutting down and below is the information I could salvage.
I am not techy enough to diagnose the Microsoft site information.

    When it happened I copied some information;
Int explorer has encounterted a problem and needs to close -sorry for the inconvenince and your information may be lost. Plese send error report.

    I opened the messge which said,"Error signature - App Name:ieexplore.eve AppVerr:7.0.6000.1672 Mod name:NTdll.dll

Question, please; If I remove Eplorer 7 in add/remove, how will I be able to get on line again to down load it all over again?

Is any version of msie in my operating system disk or somewhere so I can get on line to redownload msie7?
    Thank you

Try this and report back if you still get the error in No Add-ons mode.

Click Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools, and then click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).

    Hello
The machine is being fragmented at the moment but I had a question for you if I may.
The directions you gave me were clear and I remembered seeing a place in internet options, general tab, delete, and box pops up and asks you if you would like to remove the files stored by addons.
Would this be doing about the same thing? Itis just information for my 'learning' folder.
I will be right back when the defrg is over and thank you for the clear and simple to follow directions.

Not sure you can get here to read this but

you can also try this too think most likely an add on or malware the No AddOn mode just gives you a clue what is causing the issue.

    In IE7 window

Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Reset IE to Defaults

    Hello again
I have been surfing for about 20 minuets now without any error messages.
There is a bar at the top that says 'Internet Explorer is currently running with add-ons disabled.
Should I leave the add-ons disabled and follow your next message which said to 'reset IE to defaults?
    Thank you

Ok so it's an add on causing the issue. Go back to regular mode and you can either disable the add-ons one by one till you find the culprit or reset IE to defaults. I would personally find the culprit so I would know what caused it.

I think I will close the explorer then eliminate addons one by one until I find the bad one. Probably surf until it closes to recognize it.
Then I assume you 'disable' it-the way to do this must be at the site whereyou manage these add-ons.
Thank you very much and I will report back.

If you end up resetting IE7 then go link below and do 6) part of the post

    here: http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=44525

    6) Adjust Active X security settings

Also see 7) below it and download FireFox even if you don't use it, better to have a backup browser if you don't have one.
