Error Message

I recieve the Error Message: Access violation at 0x004F79DA (tried to write to 9x00000000) Program Terminated. Can someone please advise me. I get this everytime I try to load the Game. I used to be able to play the game on my old computer, but now I can't

 

We need more information. Name the game, name your operating system, and post your hardware information please.

 

Thank You for replying. The name of the game is Magic Match Adventures by Oberon Media. I am operating Windows XP Home Addition Version 2002 with Service Pk 2, AMD Athton XP 1800+, 1.49 GHz, 1.00 GB Ram. I have 2 independent hard drives (Maxtor 4D040H2 & WDC WD400BB-75DEA0). I have a Hanns-G 18 in flat screen monitor. Is this enough information or do you require more. Please let me know.

You are very close to the minimum requirements for the game, which is never good, but that would not cause the error message you posted.

As a first thing to try, completely uninstall the game and delete any folders it created (back up your save if you don't want to lose them!), reboot your computer, and then reinstall the game.

 

Thank you again for the quick reply. I have already done what you suggested. It didn't help. I have the same operating system that I had before and it worked fine then. Thanks anyway.

 

You have updated the OS though, and probably your antivirus and other applications as well... those things can make a difference.

Are you having problems with any other game, or just this one? Oh, and double-check that DirectX is up to date. Latest version here.

 

I don't see any mention of the graphics card used here.
