Error Message

    I have a Dell Dimension 8100 with Windows ME. CPU is
    1.4 Pentium with 512 of RAM. Video card is MX400. When
    I try to play Close Combat and Close Combat IV I get the
    message: Can't access surface for lock. This happens
    after I select the scenario while it is loading the info. Then
    the game closes to the desktop. Any help is much appreciated.

    Hi and welcome to MajorGeeks.

    First thing to do is to update your video card drivers.

    If that fails, then go to Start, Run and type in dxdiag then OK.

    In the Display tab, try disabling DirectDraw and Direct 3D and see if that helps.

    For Insomniac:

    Disabling DirectDraw worked. I will just re-enable when complet-
    ing these old games. Goodnight.
