Error Messages on Startup....ieby.exe & apivn.exe

Hi There,
I keep getting 4 or 5 error messages when Xp starts to load.
They are "ieby.exe has encountered a problem" etc etc & "apivn.exe has encountered a problem".

My system freezes untill I close down all error message boxes and then Xp continues to load.

I've searched the Net looking for definitions of what apivn & ieby are, but with no success.

Does anybody have any ideas for me to solve this little dilema ?????

Hi Noodles and welcome to MG!

Usually when you can not find the process listed on Google, etc., this means its probably a random filename trojan of some sort. I would consider one of 2 options depending on what your comfortable with.

1: Go to safe mode. Delete those files. Check your startup (tools available in our admin section) for these executables being loaded and remove them.

2: Do this either way. Safe mode, online virus scanners. Couple listed here:

Optionally, a program like Hijack this may help you remove additionl entries.
