Error on windows startup?

What's up guys? Just had this problem recently on my girlfriend's computer. When we would start up windows xp and at the screen where you choose which desktop you want, an error message comes up. The error message is... amgrsrvc.exe is acting up yada yada yada. Supposedly it's a Norton anti-virus problemo? If someone knows how to get that from coming up that would be cool. thanks!

 

That's Mcafee (AMGRSRVC.EXE), not Norton's. See if the steps below stop it.

Click Start > Administrative Tools > Services

Scroll down, right click on McAfee Alert Manager, and select Properties

Select Disable as the Startup type and click OK.
