Each time my computer boots, I keep getting the following error message:

    cfFncEnabler.exe - Configuration parser error

    Error parsing
    C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v2.0.50727\config\machine.config
    Parser returned error 0xC00CE556

How can I resolve this error?

    Thanks

NB. Toshiba Satellite L355 Laptop, running windows vista Home Premium, service pack 1, 64 bit operating system, with 4 Gb ram.

    Thanks

    Thanks Falcon attack,
I tried the various methods in the link you sent without a resolution to the problem. I even upgraded vista from service pack 1 to SP2 and then ran spc \SCANNOW and I still don't have a result.

Any further suggestions would be most welcome.
    Thank you

Thanks, went down the river trying out the methods listed. No luck.
I even updated vista to SP2 from SP1, (I was still getting the same error message) and then tried windows update followed by spc \scannow.

    Please help.
    Thanks

Notes for me: Net 2SP2, Net 3SP2 Net 4 Client but not Full. Error is v2.0.50727 so need to see which of the previous .NET this refers to. What does Vista require?

Be back after I do some sleuthing.

Well it is a variation of .NET 2 but I grew cross eyed reading all the 2.0.50727 followed by another number. have a look to see what I mean
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_.NET_Framework_versions

I can't discover exactly what version of .NET is used to run this.

Here is the "latest", as far as I can tell Toshiba Configfree
    http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/download.jsp?soid=2025046#

Now I've also read posts where people said they've deleted it and run windows wireless connecting utility.

Do you use Toshiba's ConfigFree program?

If not, I suggest you first open msconfig and prevent it from running at startup. Reboot and see if the error disappears.
If it is gone, run your computer for about a week, connecting wirelessly as you normally do. If all seems good, the add/remove the program.

I ran the Toshiba Configfree programme, it stopped midway, giving the following messages:

    cfWPSEnabler has stopped working

    Toshiba Configfree Installer Information
Error 1722. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the seup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Action ActivateWPS, location C:\Users\username\AppData\...\ConfigFree\

After this, I ran msconfig, clicked on the Startup Tab, and disabled Toshiba's cfFncEnabler and ConfigFree. After rebooting, I did not get the usual error messages. So I was thinking problem solved. However I tried running a couple of programmes and I got a windows error message with the heading "Configuration parser error" Error parsing ...Parser returned error 0xC00CE556.
