error question...

i have been getting the following error lately:

C:\docume`1\craig\locals`1\temp\wer628b.dir00\iexplore.exe.mdmp
C:\docume`1\craig\locals`1\temp\wer628b.dir00\appcompat.txt

does anyone know what this means?

it's been shutting down for no apparent reason this past week, all software scans return no problems, check disk runs with no problems identified. I've gone into the temp folder and deleted the files, they keep coming back?

Uh, what kind of programs are you using to clear temps and clear free space, do you do it manually? Try Ccleaner, it's always worked great for me. What kind of av are you using? make sure you run your Virus scans as well.

Hi

You have some software or hardware driver error going on to help you more, do your get a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD)? if so whats its code?

Try your PC in Safe Mode (F8 at boot and choose Safe Mode with Networking as this will allow you to use the internet) and see if that helps.

Try as its iexplore.exe that looks like its erroring, IE in its safe mode, its found in Start menu > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools and IE no addons and if that works without issue then you have an addon thats causing this so uninstall any toolbars you may have like Yahoo, google etc

What application are you using when it shuts down, is it Internet Explorer or is this random?

Run some antivirus checks.

Also run this guide HERE and attach the text file as mentioned as this may give us more clues.
