one suggestion on that page [ that would be easy to test ] was to try copying only one or two files at a time.
copying a ton of files at the same time 'could' cause the error. there were lots of other suggestions, but this seemed like a good thing to try first. good luck with it.

Never move files from one piece of hardware to another; always copy. Why? If there is any sort of hiccup and you tried to move, the files are lost, gone forever.
If you copy instead and there is a hiccup, the files still remain on the original device and you can try again.

I only copied one file at a time. I kept getting the error message. I copied the files. I did not move them. Is there anything I can do to try and fix this? I also am having a problem with Word when I try to Save As. It doesn't save as it just loops and then says the program is working on it and then locks up and says Not responding. Is there anything I can do to get the computer working again. I always run into problems like this when Windows 10 upgrades. Can you please help.

    Thank you,
    Wadda

    Excellent.

Give me some information about this "recorder" you mentioned.

I won't tackle the other problem because it is best to work on one thing at a time.

I am using a Creative Recorder that I have been using since 2005. It has been serving me well. I record to recorder than I recode the format to MP3, at times I will burn to CD. I am using Windows 10 these last couple of years. I usually have problems when Windows upgrades some files but after awhile my system reverts back to working correctly. I am not sure if I should stop any upgrades because most of my programs are old like myself. My computer is a HP 2011, P7-1154. Oh, I hope I can correct this problem.

    Thank you,

    What model Creative recorder?
Your computer came with Win 7. Is is 32 bit or 64 bit?
What is the extension on the original file before you "convert" it to an mp3 file? And what do you do to change it from the creative file to an mp3 file?
How large is one of these mp3 files?

Not a good idea because then the computer would not be patched.
You'd face the same issue as running Windows 7.

I've decided to stick with Windows 7; I know it is a security risk but I regularly make images so if the computer starts acting strange, I restore an image.
My desktop computer is from 2009 and works fine with a printer from 2003. I'm sure if I chose to upgrade the computer to 10, I'd have to throw out the printer. I'm not willing to do that.

it is a Creative Zen, Vision M, 30 GB. It has served me well over the years. It is too bad they don't make these anymore. My computer is a 64 Bit. The mp3 files are on average about 34000kb to 58000 KB. I never realized I shouldn't have upgraded to windows 10. Even now my Office 2016 isn't working correctly. It is the one I received unable to "save as" in my word files. I am just all messed up. Sorry for the complaining. I just wish I could get everything back the way I had it. Thank you for your help.

You would have been able to had you made an image before you upgraded. The images I make have save me numerous times. I think at one time or another I've had to restore each of our 4 Windows 7 computers because of some problem.

I go searching and see if I can find anything. (I have a SanDisk Clip+ and was worried what happens if it dies so I bought a 2nd one. I gave my husband my old unit. Then still concerned and seeing that SanDisk stopped making those players and the new ones didn't seem as good as the old ones. I searched to see what was the closest to my Clip+ and found a ClipZip comes close so I bought one of those! I think we the 3 players I should be able to get my mp3 listening in on a tiny device.)

Support page and updates are dated 2007 and 2008 so that doesn't help with Windows 10.
I was able to download the UserGuide in English from here https://support.creative.com/manuals/

It says don't connect the player to the computer until you have set up the software. You must also be an administrator.

If you have a copy of the software, install it, as an administrator and install it in compatibility mode so it "thinks" it is connected to a Windows 7 computer.

I was hoping to find a support forum (anythingbutipod.com) that I used to go to. Apparently that site died a few years back. No one is interested in mp3 players, everyone (except me) now carries music and videos on smartphones.

    semaphore error
    https://windowsreport.com/fix-semaphore-expired/

I suspect that Windows 10 lacks the correct driver for you Creative Zen M 30GB device and that's why it throws up this error.
Grab the driver from the creative site and install it. No guarantee that it will work because apparently the player was designed for pre-Windows 7 computers.
