Error with battlefield 2

hello i know this should be in the games section but too few people read in there so i have posted it in here as this problem has been bugging me for a long time. plus a game is softweare.

ok so my question is ths. i downloaded the demo for battlefield 2 about 3 weeks ago and it has been running smoothly when i play online or otherwise. but since last week i have been playing the game and i keep getting the dreadded yellow writin "there is a connection problem" (or something like that .) then it stays on for about a min and goes this happens all the time so i get shot or i crash the jet blah blah blah.
so i have had a look an google and it turns out that many people are having this problem not just for the demo but mailnly for the main game. i have tried out much of the stuff google comes up with, to no satisfaction. the dreadded yellow text still pops up and it still stalls for a while.

ok so here is what i have already tried so you dont have to waste your time telling me what i have allready done.

i have already disabled my firewall anti virus the lot. no change.

i have cheacked that i am connected the the internet and that my wirless connection is sercure.

i have reinstalled the game

and i have updated the punkbuster sofrweare...

(the internet also says that i have to open sone connection ports, but i dont know what they are and how to open them, so i have skipped that idea. plus the game was working when i first got it so i dont think some have shut down, (have they.)

ok anyone know how to help me please do thanks in advance.

you stated a wireless connection? what kind? Router?

I have had problems in the past using a b router and having games drop connection, simply cuz the wireless signal and bandwidth wasn't great enough.

hardwiring to the router, fixed the problem.

ok first my wireless connection is blekin bandwith G usb. i have the router downstairs and i have the adapter on this pc.
when we went to pc world to buy it the guy working there said that B was cheaper and G was more reliable but a bit more money, but it was ace bandwith its just like i am on the main pc when i download movies etc.

yes battlefield 2 does rock that why i am so p*ssed off. thanks you for your quick reply, i wont mess with the wires cos they have not been touched (so nothing could be rong) and my mum will have a fit (i am 14) but i will keep that in mind incase no one can help.

A "G" router should provide enough bandwidth but there are many factors that should be included when using wireless to game. First off BF2 requires and initial amount of bandwidth and any drop offs would give you this error in game. W/out plugging it in directly to the router and playing to see if it still errors, it really runs us dry with trying to troubleshoot. I wish you the best and maybe I will see you in game. name is I.Rage have fun and most of all good luck with your problem. If you get a chance try moving the pc to the router and using a cat5e cord to plug straight in. This will give you 100mb line directly connected to your router. i have been playing the full game since i wrote the last reply, and bf2 has been lagging when the game starts up like when i log into my account it takes ages and almost crashes and i keep gettin the message "cannot connect with server connection lost" when i try to log into a server. the strange thing is my computer is big/ fast enough to cope with the game easy. so what is wrong. thanks for reading UKARMYCADET please reply

bf2 is always laggy when a map loads up, at least on all of my and friends boxes. Filter the servers and make sure you are getting into servers that are under 120+ ping. Also, many times, the server is loading and you are still pinging while loading, if they have server settings set to kick for high pings after several passes, well you would fall into this category.

Until you hook the cpu directly to the router, I can not eliminate the fact that using a wireless ethernet card is the problem and not transferring enough bandwidth.

Try those things mentioned in the first paragraph and ultimately the second paragraph and get back with us.

kk, i am getting a new computer soon and and my sister has the on with bf2 on and i have a vintage 700mhz pc just for now (the one i am on now.) but just before i got it put in my sisters room i messed around with the firewall cos i thought it wouldnt harm to try again, and this time i have got it working,there are no problems at all also before i go on the game i totally clean my RAM so the game has all the RAM to itself. ill cya later and i hope to see you on bf2 when i get my new pc up and running with it on. thanks for your help... bye UKARMYCADET
