Error with Steam

all of the games on my games list on steam dont work... when i launch CSS or any game based on the source engine it give me this " the instruction at "0x2418a389" referenced memory at "0x0d8ab138". The memory could not be "read".
Click on OK to terminate the program"
when i try to play the older cs's (cs or cscz) they just close on me...
WTF!!?!?!

 

i used to have that EXACT same problem, never found out how to fix it tho. Valve customer support is no help either. Cleared up after a reformat that i was gonna do anyway. I dont know if a reinstall would help it, wouldnt hurt. You'd just lose all your maps and downloaded stuff. At least it beats not being to play at all

LOL!! you made my day that reminds me of a story when my sister was crying over the phone that her computer didn't work and I came over pressed the power button and it worked.
Moral of the story ,Sisters are dumb.
